Bahá’u’lláh and the Báb—the Founder and Forerunner of the Bahá’í Faith, respectively—were born in 1817 and 1819 in what is now Iran. According to the Lunar calendar, their birthdays were on consecutive days, and Bahá’ís all over the world now celebrate these two days together as the “Twin Holy Birthdays.” These Holy Days are celebrated in October or November of each year, with the exact dates varying from year-to-year.
